2007 is History…

Whew…have you caught your breath yet? Nothing like a year end close coupled with the holidays to make you feel like you just ran the NYC marathon. Now it’s on to a new year 2008 and you get to do it all over again! How to beat those numbers from last year? Where do I go to look for new business? How to capture this business? There are several obvious answers to these questions but I’ll speak to one - consistent marketing. I know many of you will say I don’t have the time to do everything so I will say leave it to the dealer marketing experts Opt-In Wireless. If you don’t have the time to devote to marketing consistently (that’s the key word) we will develop a marketing plan and implement it for you. Put it in our hands we will not disappoint you. EDMSSA Spring Meeting - Coming In April

Google Has Really Become The Verb of Search
 

Early this year, Yahoo was rolling out its nifty search platform, Panama; Microsoft was bragging it would be a major long-term player in search no matter what the cost; and scrappy little Ask was dropping millions on a high-profile, Crispin-designed ad campaign and telling everyone it had the best algorithm. So guess which company gained the most share in search this year. Yes, it was Google.

According to ComScore, Google's share in January was 52.6%, and by October, the most recent month with available data, that number had climbed to 58.5%. Others peg its share as even bigger: Hitwise has it at 65.1% in November, up from 64.1% in January.

In the meantime, Yahoo, Microsoft and AOL all lost share, and Ask was the only gainer, up one-tenth of a percentage point. (It's not very likely, but things still could turn around in November and December, as those returns aren't in yet.)

"Google has really become the verb of search," said James Lamberti, senior VP at ComScore. "It's a combination of viral and branding power."
